The repair and restoration campaigns in preparation for the 2025-2026 heating season are proceeding on schedule, with some facilities ahead of the plan.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk announced this during a "United News" national telethon.

“Our number one priority is to ensure all nuclear generation units are prepared for uninterrupted operation throughout the winter. The last two units are currently undergoing repairs, which we expect to complete by October,” she stated.

The Minister emphasized that preparations of thermal and hydropower facilities for winter are also progressing successfully. Distributed generation capacity is being expanded, and energy resources, including the establishment of necessary natural gas reserves, are being accumulated.

“We are working closely with the military to strengthen the protection of energy facilities. We are also continuing measures on passive protection, which has already proven its effectiveness,” underlined Svitlana Grynchuk.

The Minister stressed that, given the ongoing enemy attacks, energy sector specialists are preparing for various winter scenarios, including ensuring that critical infrastructure facilities are fully equipped with backup power supply sources.
