The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is actively working to ensure the protection of personal data owned by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. This activity is particularly important in the context of the Russian Federation's full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, as the protection of Ukrainian citizens' personal data is a priority issue.
In 2025, a number of measures were taken to comply with Ukrainian legislation in the field of personal data, in particular, an analysis of the current state of affairs was conducted, responsible persons were identified, an action plan for employees of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine in case of unauthorized access to personal data was developed, and other specific measures were taken.
Separately, it is worth highlighting the activities related to the need to develop a Procedure for the processing and protection of personal data owned by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. This document will define the general requirements for organizational and technical measures for the processing and protection of personal data owned by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine during their processing in the information, electronic communication, and information and communication systems of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and on paper.
Currently, this Procedure is at the stage of approval and is planned to be approved by the relevant regulatory act of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Its adoption will ensure compliance by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation in the field of personal data protection, in particular the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection,” and will also define the mechanism for processing personal data that will guarantee the legality, transparency, security, and compliance with the purpose of their collection, contributing to the proper performance of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine of its functions within its competence.
