Ukraine Extractive Industry Data Portal
The EITI online platform, or Ukraine Extractive Industry Data Portal, is an electronic system for submission and analysis of reporting, established in accordance with the Law of Ukraine No. 2545-VIII dated September 18, 2018, “On Ensuring Transparency in the Extractive Industries.”
The Ukraine Extractive Industry Data Portal combines an electronic system for submission and analysis of reports with a platform for analyzing open data related to the extractive sector in Ukraine and worldwide.
The purpose of this portal is to improve reporting and the collection of the most up-to-date data on payments and activities of enterprises, as well as to provide investors, analysts, and communities with access to complete and objective information regarding the country’s extractive sector and mineral resource use.
The EITI Portal was developed with support from the project “Effective Public Finance Management III,” implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Corporation for International Cooperation) on behalf of the German Government, and has been transferred to the balance of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
By Order No. 5-ag of the Ministry of Energy dated February 3, 2021, the EITI online platform was accepted into the Ministry’s balance.
In 2021, the EITI online platform began operating in a pilot mode. Currently, efforts are underway to improve the process of companies submitting reports, to create analytical modules for the online platform, and to establish electronic information exchange with the State Tax Service, the State Geological Service, and other governmental authorities.
