The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Svitlana Grynchuk, as part of a working trip to Uzhhorod within a government delegation led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, took part in a number of strategically important meetings that strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience and European integration.
During her meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, and negotiations with the Minister of Economy, Denisa Saková, Svitlana Grynchuk discussed in detail concrete steps to deepen bilateral cooperation.
“As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized, the potential of cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia for the energy resilience of both countries is enormous. And we are already translating this potential into practical solutions,” Svitlana Grynchuk noted.
According to her, the two countries have made significant progress in implementing projects to expand the transmission capacity between the energy systems of Ukraine and Slovakia, particularly on the Mukachevo – Veľké Kapušany line. This project, financed under the Ukraine Facility program, will significantly increase opportunities for electricity export and import in the future.
Svitlana Grynchuk stressed that the key priority of cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sector is the diversification of supply routes.
“This is also our common priority. We are ready to develop alternative gas supply routes to the region and work together on projects that will strengthen the energy security of Central Europe,” the Minister emphasized.
The Head of the Ministry of Energy also held talks with business representatives of Zakarpattia: “For us it is extremely important to understand what drives the region and what concerns entrepreneurs the most. Special attention was given to the development of renewable energy, support and loan programs. We noted these issues. They are valid and require work at the state level. We agreed to maintain further technical dialogue to find optimal solutions.”
