The Government of Alberta has contributed €160,000 (CAD 250,000) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The funding will be used to procure energy equipment required for repair and recovery works as part of Ukraine’s preparations for the upcoming winter season.
The contribution builds on Alberta’s cooperation with Ukraine in the energy sector, including the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024, as well as a CAD 150,000 grant provided to Energize Ukraine that same year for the installation of solar power systems at schools and hospitals. It also complements the broader efforts of the Government of Canada to support the recovery of Ukraine’s energy system.
As a reminder, in May, contracts worth more than €25.7 million were signed through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund for the supply of critically needed equipment for Ukraine’s energy sector.
We thank Alberta for its support and assistance in preparing for the next heating season. We are also grateful to all international partners who continue to stand with and support Ukraine.
