Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine to discuss the current needs of Ukraine’s energy sector, the implementation of joint projects, and prospects for further Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation.

Anatolii Kutsevol expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Switzerland for their consistent support of Ukraine, particularly in strengthening the resilience of the country’s energy infrastructure, implementing international technical assistance projects, and supporting Ukrainian communities.

“We highly appreciate Switzerland’s consistent support, which helps Ukraine’s energy sector continue operating under the conditions of Russia’s full-scale war, restore damaged infrastructure, and prepare for the upcoming autumn-winter period,” the Deputy Minister said.

Particular attention was given to Swiss-supported projects supplying energy equipment to Ukrainian regions, including cogeneration units, diesel generators, and other equipment needed to ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure facilities. The parties also reviewed the implementation of previously delivered equipment and discussed further coordination of international assistance.

The meeting also focused on opportunities to involve Swiss companies in projects aimed at restoring and modernizing Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as well as expanding the participation of Swiss businesses in programmes supporting Ukraine’s energy sector.

The parties further explored prospects for implementing investment projects involving Swiss manufacturers of energy equipment, particularly in the fields of cogeneration and distributed generation. They also discussed the Ukrainian energy sector’s need to build strategic equipment reserves ahead of the 2026/2027 autumn-winter season.

“Preparations for the next heating season are already underway. It is therefore critically important for us to build equipment reserves in a timely manner and ensure that energy companies have everything they need to restore damaged facilities as quickly as possible. We count on the continued support of our partners in this effort,” Anatolii Kutsevol stressed.

In addition, the participants discussed cooperation in the digitalization of the energy sector. In particular, they explored opportunities to apply Swiss expertise in developing modern digital services for energy consumers, improving state support mechanisms, and advancing the digital transformation of the sector.

Anatolii Kutsevol invited the Swiss side to participate in upcoming international events dedicated to coordinating support for Ukraine’s energy sector. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation and implementing joint projects aimed at enhancing the resilience of Ukraine’s energy sector.
