Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with a Polish delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment of the Republic of Poland Konrad Wojnarowski.
As part of their visit to Ukraine, the Polish representatives visited one of the thermal power plants that has repeatedly come under targeted russian attacks. The delegation inspected the consequences of the strikes and reviewed the equipment needs required for restoration and repair works.
During the meeting, Anatolii Kutsevol stressed that Ukraine counts on the support of the Polish side regarding the transfer of equipment from power plants that are no longer in operation in partner countries. Such equipment is critically important for preparations for the next heating season, he emphasized.
Anatolii Kutsevol also expressed gratitude to Poland for the assistance already provided, including 141 shipments of energy equipment and EUR 3.1 million in contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The Polish side reaffirmed its readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in the recovery and development of the energy sector, placing particular emphasis on strengthening business-to-business cooperation.
The deputy ministers also discussed future cooperation projects in the electricity sector, primarily the development of interconnectors and cross-border electricity transmission capacity.
The parties further addressed cooperation in the gas sector, in particular the import of gas to Ukraine via the Polish route, as well as the prospects for the use of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities by European partners.
Special attention during the meeting was devoted to preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference URC-2026 in Gdańsk.
