Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatoliy Kutsevol held a meeting with a Dutch delegation led by Alle Dorhout, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister briefed the delegation on the challenging situation in Ukraine’s energy sector caused by massive Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure.
Anatoliy Kutsevol emphasised that Ukraine highly values the Netherlands’ support in strengthening energy security, particularly through practical cooperation, investment, and technical assistance aimed at restoring and modernising energy infrastructure.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has received 234 humanitarian shipments of energy equipment from the Netherlands, with a total weight exceeding 3,356 tonnes. In addition, the Kingdom of the Netherlands has made four contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, amounting to more than EUR 66 million.
The parties focused in detail on the current needs of Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector. In particular, they discussed logistical solutions to accelerate the delivery of power transformers, which are critically required for emergency repairs, infrastructure restoration, and stabilisation of electricity supply in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The upcoming Dutch assistance package will also include generators and cable products.
The meeting further addressed the needs of Ukraine’s oil and gas sector, including the possibility of support from Dutch partners through the provision of equipment for repair works. A separate area of cooperation discussed was gas supply, primarily financial assistance from international partners to support additional gas imports.
The Ambassador reaffirmed the Netherlands’ continued commitment to supporting Ukraine and its energy sector and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation on the modernisation and transformation of the industry, guided by the principles of a green energy transition.
