Briefing by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olha Yukhymchuk on the situation in the energy system as of the morning of 30 December

30 December 2025, 10:36

- During the night, the enemy launched strikes against energy infrastructure facilities in Chernihiv Region. As of the morning, more than 75,000 consumers remain without electricity supply. There are also fully or partially de-energized settlements in Kharkiv and Sumy Regions. Emergency repair and restoration works are ongoing.

- Some energy facilities have already been repeatedly targeted by enemy attacks. Each restoration requires significant time and resources, as the extent of damage varies by region. Due to the scale of destruction, it is currently not possible to return to hourly outage schedules on the Left Bank of Kyiv, in several districts of Kyiv Region, and in Odesa Region. Power engineers are working around the clock to eliminate the consequences of the attacks as quickly as possible.

- Since the beginning of the massive missile and drone strikes against the energy system, power engineers have been continuously restoring damaged facilities. All energy facilities destroyed or damaged by the enemy will be restored.

- Regarding the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP): emergency repair and restoration works on the power transmission line have been completed. This will ensure more stable and reliable power supply to the plant in the event of damage to or disconnection of the Dniprovska overhead transmission line as a result of shelling by the occupying forces. At the same time, Russian attacks have repeatedly caused damage to ZNPP power supply lines and resulted in 12 blackouts at the plant.

More details on the situation in the energy system are available in the briefing by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Olha Yukhymchuk.
