- As a result of hostilities and Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, some consumers in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Kharkiv regions remain temporarily without electricity. Where the security situation allows, repair crews are already working to restore power. Energy workers are doing everything possible to reconnect Ukrainian households as quickly as possible.
- Russian attacks have damaged the power system’s ability to transmit electricity through affected networks. As a result, capacity restriction schedules for industry and businesses and hourly outage schedules for all categories of consumers are necessary. Today, these measures will be in effect in some regions throughout the day, covering up to three groups of consumers at a time. This is a necessary step to prevent network overloads and protect the system from large-scale failures.
- Damage to equipment caused by Russian attacks and voltage drops in the high-voltage network have also made emergency power outages necessary in Kyiv and parts of Kyiv region. The hourly outage schedules previously announced for the region are temporarily suspended. The system will return to the planned outage schedules as soon as the situation stabilises.
- Current schedules are available on the official channels of regional distribution system operators. Please check your regional electricity distribution operator’s pages for updates on electricity supply.
- During peak demand periods, please avoid switching on several high-power electrical appliances at the same time. This helps reduce the load on the power system and shorten the duration of necessary restrictions.
- Ukraine has launched the eOpora portal, a single information resource providing practical advice and up-to-date information on winter preparedness, government support and assistance to the public. More information is available at https://eopora.gov.ua/.
