Continue Working with Partners to Attract Additional Gas Imports and Equipment Assistance – Mykola Kolisnyk

The Government, together with the Naftogaz Group, is working to ensure that Ukraine has sufficient gas reserves for the stable passage of the current heating season. Thanks to UAH 8.4 billion already allocated from the state budget and the support of international partners, the Government and Naftogaz secured the import of 5.7 billion cubic meters of gas in 2025.

As a result of systematic imports, ahead of the 2025–2026 heating season, the state ensured that underground gas storage facilities were filled to the planned level of 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas.

At the same time, to maintain the stability and security of supply, Naftogaz of Ukraine and private companies continue daily imports of natural gas of non-Russian origin to compensate for the consequences of massive attacks on oil and gas infrastructure facilities, in particular natural gas production.

Ukraine continues to actively work on diversifying gas supply routes and thanks all international partners for their cooperation, which will help not only ensure heat for Ukrainian homes during this winter, but also strengthen the country’s energy security. We continue working with partners to attract additional imports and obtain equipment assistance for the operation of the gas system under conditions of enemy shelling. This includes, in particular, compressors, turbines, and equipment for injecting gas into storage facilities and delivering it to consumers.

“By carrying out regular imports of natural gas of non-Russian origin, including LNG from the United States, Ukraine is demonstrating in practice to neighboring countries that the EU’s decision to fully abandon Russian gas is entirely feasible,” commented Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk.
