First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a telephone conversation with First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Karel Havlíček. They discussed further cooperation in the energy sector and Czech assistance to Ukraine in preparing for the autumn-winter period.

“Ukraine has already received 35 shipments of energy equipment from six Czech donors. We highly appreciate this support. We are working to expand partnerships between our companies in the nuclear and hydropower sectors, as well as in the development of cogeneration, the oil and gas sector and hydrogen energy,” Denys Shmyhal said following the conversation.

He also noted that Ukraine is interested in attracting Czech companies and investment for the restoration and modernisation of its energy system, as well as for the implementation of new joint projects.

“The Czech Republic remains a reliable partner of Ukraine in strengthening energy resilience and security. We are grateful to the Government of the Czech Republic, Czech businesses and all donors for their support, the provision of energy equipment and their readiness to invest in Ukraine. We will continue to deepen our strategic partnership. I look forward to welcoming my counterpart to Ukraine,” the Minister of Energy said.
