As part of a working visit to Helsinki, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, together with Finland’s Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala, held a meeting with representatives of Finnish businesses.

Among the participants were companies already operating in Ukraine, investing in the country, and contributing to infrastructure recovery.

“These are systemic players supplying us with energy equipment, participating in reconstruction projects, investing in the Ukrainian economy, and strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure,” Denys Shmyhal stated.

The meeting focused on the needs of Ukraine’s energy system ahead of the heating season and on practical solutions to ensure a stable winter period.

The key areas of cooperation include a flexible decentralized energy system, modernization of capacities, development of renewable and nuclear energy, equipment for repairs and reserve creation, energy storage systems, process automation, and the resilience of oil and gas infrastructure.

As Denys Shmyhal noted, a separate priority is new generation capacity, replacement of destroyed facilities with modern mobile solutions, and the development of cogeneration.

“Protection is also an integral part of our resilience. We are interested in partnerships that will strengthen Ukraine with modern anti-drone solutions, cyber threat response systems, and reliable protection of critical infrastructure during attacks,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.

The Minister of Energy thanked Finnish partners for supporting Ukraine and for their readiness to work jointly and scale up projects.
