First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine, Martin Åberg, during which they discussed the current state of cooperation in the energy sector and further areas for its expansion.
Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the Government of Sweden for approving an additional support package worth SEK 1 billion (approximately EUR 93 million) aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience. “In total, more than 225 shipments of critically important energy equipment weighing over 2,170 tonnes have already been delivered to Ukraine from Sweden. Thank you,” the Minister noted.
The parties also focused on implementing international technical assistance projects and prospects for their expansion, including accelerated deployment of distributed and flexible generation, strengthening integration with the European energy system, targeted investments in renewable and hybrid energy, and continued support for nuclear safety and protection of critical infrastructure.
“Thank you to the Swedish Government and people for their solidarity. We count on continued close cooperation in the energy sector,” Denys Shmyhal added.
