During his visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal visited a production facility of the ATEF Group, a leading manufacturer of transformer equipment.

“We discussed preparations for the upcoming heating season and the needs of Ukraine’s power system with the company’s management. Among the key priorities are transformers, generators, and the creation of a reserve of critical equipment to ensure the rapid restoration of energy facilities following potential Russian attacks,” the Minister of Energy stated.

The parties also paid particular attention to the protection of energy infrastructure. Participants discussed new solutions and technologies aimed at enhancing the resilience of energy facilities, as well as potential engineering approaches in this area.

“Azerbaijan remains an important partner of Ukraine in the energy sector. During the most challenging period of last winter, the Azerbaijani side provided generators, transformers, cable products, and other critically important equipment. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Azerbaijan has announced 11 energy support packages for Ukraine,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Energy expressed his gratitude to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the country’s leadership for their consistent support of Ukraine and assistance in strengthening the resilience of the Ukrainian energy system.

He stressed that Ukraine is interested in further developing cooperation between Ukrainian and Azerbaijani companies in the energy sector and implementing new joint projects.
