First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held an online meeting with Sari Multala, Minister of Climate and Environment of the Republic of Finland. During the discussion, Denys Shmyhal briefed his Finnish counterpart on the current state of Ukraine’s energy system and the country’s urgent needs for the rapid restoration of critical energy infrastructure.
According to Denys Shmyhal, Finland has already delivered 70 humanitarian aid shipments to Ukraine. These include power transformers, generators, mobile boilers, electric motors, cables, and other equipment essential for the repair, recovery, and modernization of the energy sector.
“This critically important equipment is helping us operate under extremely difficult conditions,” Denys Shmyhal said. “I am grateful to our partners for their support. Our key priority today is the supply of high-capacity generators and mobile thermal power plants for Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and other regions that are suffering daily from Russian energy terror.”
The parties also discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian and Finnish energy companies.
“Many Finnish companies are already working with Ukraine, and there are significant opportunities to expand cooperation in reconstruction, advanced technologies, and modern energy solutions,” Denys Shmyhal noted.
Denys Shmyhal expressed his sincere gratitude to Minister Sari Multala and the people of Finland for their consistent and strong support of Ukraine.
