Denys Shmyhal Held a Meeting with the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held talks with Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands.

Denys Shmyhal congratulated Sjoerd Sjoerdsma on his appointment and noted the productive cooperation established between the Governments of Ukraine and the Netherlands, expressing confidence that it will continue to expand.

The ministers discussed Ukraine’s priorities in strengthening the energy sector. Denys Shmyhal thanked the Netherlands for supplying transformers, generators, and decommissioned gas equipment to Ukraine. The parties coordinated further steps.

The First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy informed that Ukrainian and Dutch experts have already commenced dismantling equipment in the Netherlands. The works are expected to be completed by mid-March, after which the equipment will be delivered to Ukraine. Particular attention was also paid to the diversification of gas supply routes.

“I am grateful to the Netherlands for its consistent support of Ukraine. The Netherlands has already provided energy equipment worth USD 30.5 million. In addition, a further contribution of €35 million to the Energy Support Fund has been announced,” Denys Shmyhal stated.
