Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal took part in the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu.
The parties discussed coordination in the energy sector, preparations of the two countries' power systems for the upcoming heating season, the development and protection of energy infrastructure, as well as the further integration of Ukraine and Moldova into the European energy system.
Denys Shmyhal also participated in the official events marking the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, held with the participation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the ceremony, the President of Ukraine presented state awards to members of the Armed Forces, medical workers, power engineers, representatives of public authorities, the diplomatic corps, the scientific and cultural communities, and other professionals whose work contributes to strengthening Ukraine.
In recognition of his significant personal contribution to strengthening Ukrainian statehood, advancing the country's energy sector, and his dedicated public service, Denys Shmyhal was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, Fifth Class.
"I sincerely thank the President of Ukraine for this high state award and for his trust. It is both a great honour and a profound responsibility. We will continue working to strengthen Ukraine's energy resilience and support the country's development," Denys Shmyhal said.
