The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the transfer of 27 power transformers to communities in the Mykolaiv region to strengthen the region's energy resilience, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced.
The need for this equipment was identified during the Minister's working visit to the region. Amid continued Russian attacks, the transformers are critically important for the operation of substations and for the rapid restoration of electricity supply.
"The equipment, valued at more than UAH 32 million, was procured under the Emergency Recovery Programme financed by the Government of Japan through JICA. It will enable energy workers to carry out repairs more quickly and will strengthen Mykolaiv region's preparedness for the upcoming autumn and winter period," Denys Shmyhal said.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to Japan and JICA for their continued support in strengthening Ukraine's energy resilience.
