First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal visited one of the coal mines in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where, at a depth of 480 metres, he met with miners who continue to descend underground and carry out their work despite constant Russian attacks and the ongoing security risks.
The mine was also visited by renowned Ukrainian musician Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, who expressed his support for energy sector workers—whose efforts help sustain the country's resilience—by performing some of his best-known songs for the miners underground.
Denys Shmyhal thanked the miners for their daily work, courage, and unwavering commitment.
“Thank you to each and every one of you for your courage, resilience, and dedication. I am also grateful to Sviatoslav Vakarchuk for his continued support of Ukraine’s energy workers and for creating this special moment for our miners and energy professionals. Light will prevail!” Denys Shmyhal said.
