Under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, a regular meeting of the Headquarters for the Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies in Kyiv and the surrounding region was held.
According to Denys Shmyhal, the capital has temporarily switched to night-time power outage schedules. He noted that, due to the nature of the damage to the power system, the schedules are strict and may differ between districts and even individual buildings. At the same time, under emergency conditions, such schedules help ensure predictability. The Minister expressed his gratitude to all teams involved in restoration works.
The Head of the Ministry of Energy emphasised that Kyiv continues to experience an electricity shortage and that repair works are ongoing.
Overall, 239 crews were engaged today in stabilising heat and electricity supply in the capital. A total of 307 high-capacity generators are currently operating at critical sites, with an additional 40 generators expected to be deployed. Efforts to reinforce energy response teams are also continuing.
The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Energy also noted that temperatures are expected to drop over the weekend. “The State Emergency Service has reported on its level of readiness. We are preparing for this challenge together,” he said.
