Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk held an online meeting with Gert Koopman, Director-General for Enlargement at the European Commission.

During the discussion, they addressed the ongoing challenges facing Ukraine’s energy sector, which continues to suffer from daily Russian attacks.

“Complex repair work is underway following the shelling. Our priority is to restore power supply to consumers as quickly as possible,” said Svitlana Grynchuk.

Significant attention was given to the issue of additional natural gas imports to ensure a stable heating season.

“Work with international partners in this direction is ongoing,” emphasized the Minister.
Svitlana Grynchuk also highlighted the need to further strengthen Ukrainian-European cooperation in protecting physical energy infrastructure.

“We must reinforce as many facilities as possible, protect critical equipment, and ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply. It is crucial to enhance air defense systems and maintain equipment reserves. This is already the fourth winter of war, and the main task of our energy sector remains to defend against the enemy,” she noted.

The Minister expressed gratitude to Gert Koopman and his team for their continued support of Ukraine and their particular focus on energy issues, which remain a priority for the European Commission.
