Estonia has announced an additional contribution of €100,000 to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. With these additional resources, Estonia’s total contribution to the Fund will exceed €2.7 million.

“Estonia once again demonstrates its solidarity with Ukraine. We are grateful to our partners for this additional assistance, which strengthens our resilience. We are grateful to the Energy Community for coordinating support that is critically important to us. This assistance enables us to prepare Ukraine’s energy sector for the winter, address the consequences of Russian attacks, and provide energy companies with everything they need to carry out repairs. It is a concrete contribution to our energy security and our ability to withstand the challenges we face,” First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF) was established in spring 2022 with the agreement of the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to help address the consequences of Russian attacks targeting critical energy infrastructure.

Since the Fund’s establishment, more than €2.4 billion in grant funding has been contributed by 40 foreign sponsors from 26 partner countries and three international organizations.

The Fund is an effective instrument enabling governments, international financial institutions, international organizations and corporate donors to provide financial support for the efforts of Ukraine’s energy sector to address the damage caused by the war and ensure the uninterrupted operation of the energy system.
