First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal met with Nicolas Forissier, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Investment Attractiveness at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, to discuss further support for Ukraine and the restoration of its energy sector.

According to Denys Shmyhal, France will deliver 150 generators to Ukraine in February and provide EUR 71 million in financial assistance throughout 2026 to support the energy sector.

“France is one of Ukraine’s key strategic partners in the energy sector,” the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing bilateral projects and ways to deepen cooperation. Denys Shmyhal informed the French side about the consequences of Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and outlined Ukraine’s key priorities: restoration, resilience, and modernization of the energy system.

The Minister of Energy also thanked France for its role in mobilizing EUR 30 billion in energy assistance under the EU macro-financial support framework. He noted that 46 shipments of generators, transformers, and emergency equipment provided by France are already in use to help restore Ukraine’s power system.
