At the proposal of the Ministry of Energy, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution extending the imposition of special obligations on natural gas market participants until 31 March 2027.
This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.
“For households, this means that gas prices will remain unchanged throughout the autumn-winter period. It will also allow preferential tariffs for district heating companies to remain in place and extend the terms governing natural gas sales to gas distribution system operators and for cogeneration in frontline areas,” the Head of the Ministry of Energy explained.
Denys Shmyhal stressed that, amid the ongoing war, this decision is particularly important for millions of Ukrainian families. It will help ensure reliable and uninterrupted natural gas supply, the security and reliability of the natural gas market, the stable operation of heat supply facilities and the Ukrainian energy system as a whole.
“Despite the sector’s substantial losses caused by Russian attacks, the state will continue to create the conditions necessary to protect people,” the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy emphasised.
