"Ukrainian statehood has undergone a long and challenging path of formation. Despite centuries of struggle, wars, and occupation, Ukrainians have endured and preserved their state.

On the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, we pay tribute to everyone who, throughout the centuries, has defended the freedom of the Ukrainian people and fought for our independence. We also honour all those who are defending Ukraine today, as well as those on the home front who are strengthening the country's resilience.

I extend my gratitude to our soldiers, power engineers, rescuers, medical workers, teachers, and defence industry professionals. To every person working for Ukraine.

We continue to write Ukraine's history. We are building a future for the next generations.
