On the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2026), First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and Lithuanian Minister of Energy Žygimantas Vaičiūnas signed a Joint Declaration on strengthening cooperation in energy resilience and recovery.

Under the agreement, Lithuania will allocate EUR 4 million for the installation of solar power systems and battery energy storage systems at social infrastructure facilities, including Ukrainian schools and hospitals.

“Equipment previously provided by Lithuania has already been deployed under the Ray of Hope initiative. As a result, six Ukrainian healthcare facilities are now generating their own electricity, while another facility is currently at the technical design stage. We are grateful to our partners for this decision to provide additional financial support,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The declaration also identifies emergency support for Ukraine’s energy sector as a key area of cooperation, including the supply of transformers, generators, critical spare parts, and other equipment in line with the urgent needs of Ukraine’s energy sector.

“Equipment dismantled from the Vilnius Combined Heat and Power Plant and the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant is already being used in Ukraine to restore damaged energy infrastructure. We highly appreciate our partners’ readiness to continue this support. We are grateful to the Government and people of Lithuania for their solidarity and cooperation, which are helping Ukraine withstand the challenges of wartime,” First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
