The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, jointly with the Secretariat of the Energy Community, held an online seminar for business representatives and potential equipment suppliers on opportunities to participate in procurement procedures through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The seminar covered the current needs of Ukraine’s energy sector, opportunities for businesses to participate in procurement financed by the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, as well as the specifics of tender procedures and work on the specialised procurement platform.
During the seminar, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol emphasised that Ukraine’s energy sector continues to operate under extremely challenging conditions due to Russia’s systematic attacks on energy infrastructure.
“The resilience of Ukraine’s energy system largely depends on how quickly we can procure the necessary equipment and deliver it to Ukraine. It is important to make use of modern technologies and solutions offered by our international partners. We count on companies joining procurement procedures through the Fund and helping us strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience,” the Deputy Minister of Energy noted.
The Ministry of Energy called on potential suppliers to monitor announcements on the Fund’s procurement platform and actively participate in relevant tenders. During the event, participants were informed about the needs of energy companies for transformers, switchgear, cable products, distributed generation equipment, physical protection equipment for energy facilities and other critical components.
Representatives of the Secretariat of the Energy Community and independent procurement agent UTA-Sweco presented the Fund’s operating principles, requirements for procurement participants, the procedure for submitting tender offers, evaluation criteria and equipment delivery conditions.
To date, more than 1,560 contracts have been concluded through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund with more than 330 suppliers from around the world, for a total value exceeding €1 billion. New tenders are regularly announced on the Fund’s procurement platform in line with the needs of Ukrainian energy companies.
