During his working visit to London, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak held a bilateral meeting with UK Energy Minister Michael Shanks.
Roman Andarak informed his counterpart about the current situation in Ukraine’s energy system under continued Russian attacks, outlining the urgent needs of the Ukrainian energy sector in terms of equipment, resources, and the formation of additional gas reserves.
The parties also discussed opportunities to further intensify bilateral cooperation, including the attraction of investment in Ukraine’s nuclear and renewable energy sectors.
Special attention was given to the ongoing preparations for the Ukraine-UK Strategic Dialogue on Energy.
Deputy Minister Andarak emphasized that cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom has acquired a new, long-term strategic dimension following the signing of the 100-year partnership agreement. He noted that both countries are now focused on expanding and deepening this dialogue to achieve tangible, practical outcomes.
He expressed his gratitude to the British side for its steadfast support of Ukraine and its readiness to continue joint efforts aimed at strengthening energy security.
