From January to early July 2026, 30 healthcare facilities launched their own electricity generation under the Ray of Hope project. The total installed capacity of the commissioned solar power plants amounts to 2,388 kW.

Another 106 facilities are currently at various stages of implementation, five healthcare institutions are in the final stage of commissioning, and 146 medical facilities are developing technical solutions.

The commissioning of the 30 healthcare facilities became possible thanks to international support. Specifically, 24 facilities were financed by Germany, five by Sweden, and one by the United Kingdom.

The Ray of Hope programme is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, implemented through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund under the coordination of the Energy Community Secretariat.

The programme aims to strengthen the energy resilience of healthcare facilities by equipping them with solar panels, battery energy storage systems, and other equipment to ensure reliable electricity supply and uninterrupted operation even under challenging conditions.
