Between January and the end of July 2026, 40 healthcare facilities commissioned their own electricity generation systems under the Ray of Hope project. The combined installed capacity of the commissioned solar power plants totals 3,249 kW.

A further 113 facilities are currently at various stages of implementation, five healthcare facilities are at the final stage of commissioning, and 144 medical institutions are in the process of developing technical solutions.

The commissioning of these 40 facilities was made possible through international support. In particular, 30 facilities were financed by Germany, five with the support of Sweden, three with the support of the United Kingdom, and two with funding from the European Union.

The Ray of Hope programme is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, implemented through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and coordinated by the Energy Community Secretariat.

The programme aims to strengthen the energy resilience of healthcare facilities by equipping them with solar panels, battery energy storage systems, and other equipment required to ensure reliable electricity supply and uninterrupted operation even under challenging conditions.
