In the face of ongoing enemy attacks on the energy sector, we must respond to new challenges by combining defense, equipment repair, decentralization, and effective cooperation with partners. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Svitlana Grynchuk, during a meeting with the heads of Ukraine’s foreign diplomatic institutions.

"Our strategic priorities are focused on internal transformations that fully correspond to the challenges of war. In particular, these are the protection and enhancement of the resilience of the energy system, ensuring the stability of energy supply, as well as the decentralization and modernization of energy infrastructure," noted Svitlana Grynchuk.

The Minister of Energy also emphasized the need to accumulate resources to ensure a stable passage through the upcoming heating season, as well as the creation of a strategic gas reserve to meet the needs of Ukraine and Eastern European countries.

Svitlana Grynchuk pointed out that there are several key instruments for working with partners. These include the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which had accumulated over EUR 1.15 billion from 33 donor countries as of July 2025. Another is the Emergency Energy Assistance Hub, which handles the reception, logistics, and distribution of humanitarian cargo for critical infrastructure enterprises. Since its establishment, the Hub has received 1,870 shipments with a total weight of over 24,000 tonnes from 38 countries.

According to the Minister, Ukraine’s bilateral cooperation with partners is no less important — in particular with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the governments of France, Belgium, Denmark, and Lithuania.

The meeting also covered the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and cooperation with the IAEA, the prospects of nuclear energy, the development of gas production, and the harmonization of legislation with EU law, including the results of the screening process.

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine expressed gratitude to international partners for their close cooperation and mutual support.

"Support for the Ukrainian energy sector today means the joint implementation of advanced solutions and engineering technologies, which begins with shared values and a common vision of the future. Our energy struggle has shown how many like-minded allies we have," summarized Svitlana Grynchuk.
