Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk visited the Odesa region to discuss measures to protect the region’s energy infrastructure, preparations for stable operations during the winter period, and urgent needs for restoring power facilities damaged by Russian attacks. The discussions were held together with the leadership of the Odesa Regional Military Administration and representatives of regional energy companies.
“Energy companies continue to eliminate the consequences of Russian attacks on substations and power grids. Preparations are underway to ensure equipment is ready for winter operation. Among the priority tasks are strengthening restoration reserves, enhancing physical and engineering protection of facilities, and improving air defense,” Ms. Grynchuk noted.
The Minister highlighted that in October, the Government allocated UAH 550 million from the state budget’s reserve fund to protect the region’s energy infrastructure. Work to enhance resilience is ongoing.
“We are also continuing to engage with international partners to ensure that communities and energy companies receive the necessary equipment, materials, and alternative energy solutions,” she emphasized.
