The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) has transferred €63.82 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The total contributions from SIDA to the Fund now amount to €203.08 million, of which €44.68 million were allocated to a separate special account to ensure nuclear safety.
Thanks to Sweden’s financial assistance, equipment has been procured for a project on the development of distributed generation in one of Ukraine’s most energy-deficient regions. SIDA funds have also been used to purchase critical equipment for NEC Ukrenergo and distribution system operators in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv regions.
“We sincerely thank our Swedish partners for this support, which makes an important contribution to Ukraine’s energy resilience amid Russian armed aggression. Thanks to this assistance, we are not only restoring what was destroyed by the enemy, but also bringing new generating capacities into operation,” emphasized Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak.
Sweden is the second largest donor to the Fund after Germany. Recently, Germany made the largest single contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund since its establishment, amounting to €160.11 million.
As of 25 December 2025, the Fund has received over €1.521 billion in grants, including €258 million in new contributions during December.
Fund resources are used to procure equipment, spare parts, and other materials necessary for the restoration and stabilization of Ukraine’s energy system following Russian attacks.
