Sweden has announced a new SEK 1 billion assistance package to support the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system. The funding is intended to address urgent needs for energy equipment while strengthening energy resilience in the medium and long term.
The support will be channelled as follows:
- SEK 600 million through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund;
- SEK 400 million through the United Nations Development Programme.
According to First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, the funds will be used to procure generators, heat pumps, critical spare parts, and other essential equipment.
“This is both urgent assistance and a long-term investment in Ukraine’s stability, security, and European future. I am grateful to the Government and people of Sweden for their steadfast solidarity with Ukraine,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
