The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway summarized the results of their cooperation over the past three years and identified further steps in the development of the gas sector, preparation for the heating season, and the implementation of green technologies.

The parties summarized the results of their joint work over the past three years and discussed the prospects for developing the partnership, particularly in the gas industry, adapting Norwegian experience to Ukrainian conditions, and improving the resilience of energy infrastructure in the face of military challenges.

Norway is one of the donors to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and is actively involved in renewable energy development projects in cooperation with UNDP, the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO), and the World Bank. Norwegian energy companies continue to operate and invest in Ukraine despite security risks.

Particular attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming heating season, in particular to increasing natural gas reserves, which is one of the key tasks of the energy sector. The issues of protection of energy facilities and cooperation in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, including support for Ukraine in matters related to the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, were also discussed.

“Norway is a reliable strategic partner of Ukraine. Its experience, investments, and consistent support help us not only to restore the energy system but also to modernize it in accordance with European standards, making it more resilient to military challenges,” said Ukrainian Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynychuk.

Ambassador Helen Sand Andresen confirmed the continued support of the Government and people of Norway in countering Russian aggression and expressed readiness to further expand bilateral cooperation after the achievement of lasting peace.
