Ukraine and the Slovak Republic have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation aimed at bolstering energy security and sustainability.
The agreement was outlined in the Roadmap for Joint Actions of the Governments of Ukraine and the Slovak Republic, adopted during the third round of intergovernmental consultations held in Košice, Slovakia. The Ukrainian delegation was led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, with the Ministry of Energy represented by Deputy Minister Roman Andarak.
“Ukraine thanks Slovakia for the new package of energy equipment worth EUR 500,000. Ukraine and Slovakia share a constructive and pragmatic vision for the development of our relations in the energy sector. We are sincerely grateful to our Slovak partners for their practical support in diversifying energy supplies - electricity, oil, and gas - especially now, as the enemy continues to deliberately target the Ukrainian energy system,” said Andarak.
He added that the two governments have already achieved “notable success in specific projects for the mutually beneficial use of energy infrastructure” and agreed to further coordinate their efforts on energy security at the EU level.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized that both countries have made significant progress in joint energy initiatives and underscored the importance of continued collaboration in this sector.
The approved roadmap confirms the intention to continue scientific and technical cooperation under the existing 2023–2025 cooperation plan. Additionally, Ukraine and Slovakia will explore further opportunities for financial and technical assistance to support the modernization of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
