Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization, Roman Andarak, participated in a coordination meeting of the Fund’s donors convened by the Energy Community Secretariat.
The participants reviewed the condition of Ukraine’s energy system amid ongoing large-scale Russian attacks, the urgent needs of energy companies, and mechanisms for ensuring the rapid restoration of damaged infrastructure. Deputy Minister Andarak briefed partners on the sector’s current priority needs.
Russia’s massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy system continue, targeting critical infrastructure that underpins the functioning of the country. Ukraine is entering the fourth winter of full-scale war under sustained pressure.
“Over the past two months, the Ministry has received an unprecedented number of urgent requests from energy companies. To maintain stable operation of the power system and ensure efficient use of available resources, we apply strict prioritization, enabling support to the most critical facilities and mitigating the risk of large-scale blackouts,” emphasized Roman Andarak.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the winter period, including the prioritization of support for generation and grid infrastructure to ensure the stability of the energy system.
Particular attention was given to the ‘Ray of Hope’ project, under which more than 300 hospitals across Ukraine will be equipped with solar power plants, energy storage systems, and hybrid inverters.
Deputy Minister Andarak expressed gratitude to international partners for their solidarity, continuous coordination within the Fund, and unwavering support for measures aimed at the rapid restoration and protection of Ukraine’s energy facilities.
Since February 2022, total partner commitments to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund have exceeded EUR 1.75 billion.
