Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko, together with representatives of Energoatom, held a meeting with Holtec International’s leadership, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome (URC 2025). During the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at deepening cooperation in the deployment of advanced technologies for the development of Ukraine’s nuclear generation.
The Memorandum outlines the development of modern production facilities for the manufacturing of nuclear components and spent nuclear fuel storage systems. In addition, the document envisions the deployment of Holtec’s SMR-300 small modular reactors in Ukraine, including capacity building and technical training for Ukrainian specialists as part of the SMR-300 program at the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in the United States.
