This week, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal visited an energy facility in Kyiv Region that has repeatedly come under Russian attack.
“Despite the damage, energy workers continue to carry out their duties, restore equipment, and ensure that Ukrainian homes remain supplied with electricity,” Denys Shmyhal noted.
- As a result of hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure, some consumers in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions remain temporarily without electricity supply.
- Energy workers are making every effort to restore power supply to all affected consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are continuing around the clock.
- Due to adverse weather conditions, 40 settlements in Chernihiv and Sumy regions remain without electricity. Repair crews are working to restore power supply.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, together with the Ministry of Energy team, visited an energy facility in Kyiv Region, where he reviewed the progress of restoration works and held a meeting with the facility’s management and representatives of energy companies.
The Government of the United Kingdom has announced financial support amounting to £210 million, equivalent to more than €242 million, through UK Export Finance (UKEF) to support the stable operation of Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector over the next two years. The agreement was announced by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as part of arrangements reached with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The European Union will allocate €75 million in grant assistance for the restoration of the New Safe Confinement at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The announcement was made by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen during the G7 Summit.
The funds will be directed towards restoring the protective structure covering the destroyed fourth reactor unit of the Chornobyl NPP, which sustained damage as a result of Russian attacks.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held an online meeting with Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche. The parties discussed progress in implementing previously reached agreements, including those made during their meeting in Berlin in April this year. The key priority remains strengthening Ukraine’s energy system ahead of winter and building additional resilience for the future.
The Government has amended the conditions for the second stage of the competitive tender for the construction of new generation capacity in Ukraine. In particular, it increased the total capacity to be offered through the tender from 1,322 MW to 1,505 MW. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

From January to mid-June 2026, 17 healthcare facilities launched their own electricity generation under the Ray of Hope project. The total installed capacity of commissioned solar power plants amounts to 1,650 kW.
Currently, an additional 100 facilities are at various stages of implementation, seven healthcare institutions are at the final stage of deployment, and 141 medical facilities are developing technical solutions.
