The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal, took part in a meeting of the Coalition Council, where opportunities for deregulation in the energy sector were discussed. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko, Members of Parliament, and mayors.

The President of Ukraine has signed Law No. 4834, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which establishes a new legislative framework for the further integration of Ukraine’s electricity market with the unified European market.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sørensen.

The parties discussed ongoing cooperation projects in the energy sector, as well as prospective areas for further collaboration.

The Deputy Minister briefed the Ambassador on the current situation in Ukraine’s energy system, outlined key priorities in preparation for the upcoming heating season, and presented the current needs of the country’s energy sector.

The application period for additional payments for March 2026 closed on 15 April. A total of 13,565 applications were received, including 9,646 from energy companies.

Additional payments of UAH 20,000 will be provided to repair crew workers, team leaders, engineers, and other specialists who worked under challenging conditions to ensure the rapid restoration of critical infrastructure.

Enterprises were also able to submit data for January and February for employees who, for various reasons, had not been included in previous lists.

At the National Centre of Folk Culture “Ivan Honchar Museum”, two exhibitions have opened to mark the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster: the photo exhibition “Lina Kostenko in Chornobyl Expeditions” and the historical and ethnographic exhibition “Chornobyl: Rescued Treasures of Polissia.” These exhibitions present the Chornobyl region not solely as a site of tragedy, but as a space of memory and culture.
