On the sidelines of URC2026 in Gdańsk, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and the Netherlands’ Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Reinette Klever signed a Roadmap for Energy Cooperation between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the roadmap primarily focuses on coordinating efforts to prepare Ukraine for the 2026/2027 heating season, including the identification and accelerated procurement of critical energy equipment.

The fourth meeting of the G7+ Energy Coordination Group for Ukraine, also known as the “Energy Ramstein,” took place in Gdańsk, Poland.

“At least EUR 375 million for the restoration of energy infrastructure and new contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund,” First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal announced, summarizing the outcomes of the G7+ energy meeting in Gdańsk.

According to him, international partners announced additional assistance for Ukraine’s energy sector, including:

- As a result of ongoing hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure, some consumers in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions remain temporarily without electricity.

- Power engineers are making every effort to restore electricity supply to all affected consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are continuing around the clock.

- No electricity supply restrictions are forecast for today. Please follow the official information channels of your local distribution system operator for any updates.

On the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC) in Gdańsk, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Poland’s Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka. The meeting was also attended by the heads of Ukraine’s state-owned energy companies — Ukrenergo, Naftogaz, and the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) — as well as their Polish counterparts.

Ahead of the Energy Platform at the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) in Gdańsk, the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Energy Community Secretariat issued a joint statement calling for enhanced support for Ukraine’s energy sector in preparation for the upcoming winter period.

The parties called on current and prospective donors to contribute to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to ensure the timely procurement of critical equipment and the implementation of energy infrastructure recovery measures.

For the first time in nearly two decades, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has invested funds from the financial reserve designated for the future decommissioning of nuclear installations in domestic government bonds (OVDP). This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

- As a result of ongoing hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions remain temporarily without electricity.

- Power engineers are making every effort to restore electricity supply to all affected consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are continuing around the clock.

- Due to adverse weather conditions, 20 settlements in the Kirovohrad and Sumy regions remain without electricity. Repair crews are working to restore power supply.

The Government of Alberta has contributed €160,000 (CAD 250,000) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

The funding will be used to procure energy equipment required for repair and recovery works as part of Ukraine’s preparations for the upcoming winter season.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann during his visit to Kyiv.

The parties discussed the implementation of reforms in line with OECD principles, particularly in the energy sector, as well as Ukraine’s progress towards full membership in the Organisation.

Denys Shmyhal briefed Mathias Cormann on the current situation in the energy sector, ongoing recovery efforts, and modernization initiatives.

Between January and mid-June 2026, 21 healthcare facilities began generating their own electricity as part of the implementation of the “Ray of Hope” project. The total installed capacity of the commissioned solar power plants amounts to 1,820 kW.

Currently, a further 100 facilities are at various stages of implementation, 7 healthcare institutions are in the final stage of completion, and 151 medical facilities are undergoing the development of technical solutions.
