Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sørensen.

The parties discussed ongoing cooperation projects in the energy sector, as well as prospective areas for further collaboration.

The Deputy Minister briefed the Ambassador on the current situation in Ukraine’s energy system, outlined key priorities in preparation for the upcoming heating season, and presented the current needs of the country’s energy sector.

- As a result of shelling of energy infrastructure facilities, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions remain temporarily without electricity supply.

- Energy workers are operating in an enhanced mode to restore electricity supply to all consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are ongoing around the clock.

- No restrictions are forecast for today. Updates on electricity supply should be followed via official resources of regional electricity distribution operators.

The application period for additional payments for March 2026 closed on 15 April. A total of 13,565 applications were received, including 9,646 from energy companies.

Additional payments of UAH 20,000 will be provided to repair crew workers, team leaders, engineers, and other specialists who worked under challenging conditions to ensure the rapid restoration of critical infrastructure.

Enterprises were also able to submit data for January and February for employees who, for various reasons, had not been included in previous lists.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal, held a second meeting with representatives of distributed gas generation businesses to discuss systemic solutions aimed at ensuring the stable and predictable operation of gas-based generation in Ukraine.

At the National Centre of Folk Culture “Ivan Honchar Museum”, two exhibitions have opened to mark the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster: the photo exhibition “Lina Kostenko in Chornobyl Expeditions” and the historical and ethnographic exhibition “Chornobyl: Rescued Treasures of Polissia.” These exhibitions present the Chornobyl region not solely as a site of tragedy, but as a space of memory and culture. The project as a whole reflects preserved heritage that continues to speak through the voice of Polissia across the decades following the disaster.

During the plenary session of the Ukrainian-German intergovernmental consultations, co-chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, outlined the challenges to energy security, the current needs of Ukraine’s energy sector, and opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

As part of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Germany, the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, held a meeting with the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche.

The Minister expressed gratitude for the close cooperation and substantial support provided to Ukraine’s energy sector. “The total volume of assistance has already reached €552 million — a significant contribution to the restoration and strengthening of our energy system,” he noted.
