As part of his working visit to Kharkiv Region, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal chaired a coordination meeting with the leadership of the Regional Military Administration, the City of Kharkiv, and energy companies regarding preparations for the 2026/27 autumn-winter period.

The meeting focused on preparations of energy facilities and electricity networks for winter, as well as the current status of infrastructure recovery and protection measures and the availability of necessary equipment.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatolii Kutsevol held a meeting with the Heads of Mission of EU Member States on the sidelines of the IAEA Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, where he informed international partners about the current security situation surrounding Ukraine’s nuclear facilities and the consequences of Russia’s aggression for nuclear and radiation safety in Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada has approved amendments to the State Budget that will provide additional funding to ensure the safe operation of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Hanna Lihun took part in the opening of the semi-final stage of the professional skills competition for emergency dispatch service teams of Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine LLC.

The competition brings together teams representing the company’s regional branches from across the country. Its purpose is to enhance the professional training of personnel, improve practical emergency response skills, and facilitate the exchange of experience among specialists in the gas distribution sector.

- As a result of hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure, a number of consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions remain temporarily without electricity supply.

- Energy workers are making every effort to restore power to all affected consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are ongoing around the clock.

- In the Kharkiv region, an enemy UAV attacked a service vehicle belonging to an energy company. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The purchased equipment includes solutions for strengthening electricity networks, supporting generating capacities, modernising energy infrastructure, enhancing the resilience of the power system, as well as materials for protecting energy facilities and carrying out emergency restoration works.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko held a meeting with Deputy Minister for Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Minna-Liina Lind.

The parties discussed the current situation in Ukraine’s energy sector, preparations for the upcoming heating season, the sector’s needs amid ongoing Russian attacks, and further avenues for Ukrainian-Estonian cooperation.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with a World Bank delegation led by Managing Director of Operations Anna Bjerde and Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani.

The discussion focused on joint efforts to prepare the updated Energy Strategy of Ukraine.

- As a result of hostilities and attacks on energy infrastructure facilities, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions remain temporarily without electricity supply.

- Energy workers are making every effort to restore power supply to all affected consumers as quickly as possible. Restoration works are ongoing around the clock.

- Due to adverse weather conditions, more than 40 settlements in the Kyiv and Sumy regions remain without electricity. Repair crews are working to restore power supply.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal personally expressed his gratitude for the latest EU disbursement under the Ukraine Facility during a meeting in Kyiv with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
