Denys Shmyhal spoke with journalists about the priorities for preparing for the next heating season.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with journalists to discuss the completion of the winter period and the priorities of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine in preparing for the next heating season.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has allocated an additional SEK 600 million (approximately EUR 56.38 million) to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. As a result, Sweden’s total contribution to the Fund has increased to EUR 259.5 million.

- Where the security situation allows, repair crews have already begun restoration work. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore electricity supply to Ukrainian households, social infrastructure facilities, and businesses as quickly as possible.

Ukraine continues to implement a state financial support programme for citizens installing renewable energy generation systems in their households. The programme provides preferential loans for the installation of solar power plants and energy storage systems.

As of today, authorized banks have received nearly 5,000 applications from individuals to participate in the programme. Following their review, 4,819 loan agreements have been signed for a total amount exceeding UAH 1.69 billion. The total installed capacity of the equipment amounts to 41.8 thousand kW.

Despite massive attacks by Russia and low temperatures, Ukraine’s energy system maintained its resilience this winter.

“I express my deepest gratitude to all energy workers, repair crews, and our defenders,” emphasized First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

The head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, together with the Prime Minister and other government officials, presented a report on their work to the President of Ukraine and the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Federal Minister for Economy, Energy and Tourism of Austria, Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Austria in the field of renewable hydrogen.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the document provides for the development of hydrogen production, the creation of infrastructure for hydrogen storage and transportation, as well as the attraction of investments in this sector.

The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency has adopted the resolution “Consequences of Instability of Energy Infrastructure Critical for the Safety and Security of Nuclear Power Plants in Ukraine.” The document reaffirms the importance of assessing risks and continuing IAEA expert missions at Ukrainian energy facilities.
