On 6 March, applications will open for the payment of a UAH 20,000 allowance for February to critical infrastructure workers involved in addressing the consequences of Russian attacks. Applications will be accepted until 15 March inclusive.

Slovenia has joined the Ukraine Energy Support Fund with a contribution of EUR 500,000, bringing the total number of donor countries to 37.

“We thank Slovenia for its assistance. This contribution will support our ongoing efforts to restore Ukraine’s energy sector after russian attacks and help us prepare for the coming winter,” said First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

In total, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund has already received nearly EUR 1.849 billion from international partners.

During February, Ukrainian power engineers restored electricity supply to 3.1 million consumers who had been cut off due to enemy attacks and hostilities.

Restoration works continued in regions subjected to constant shelling and damage to energy infrastructure. Crews worked under high security risks, restoring lines, substations, and other equipment to ensure stable electricity supply.

The largest number of consumers were reconnected in Odesa, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

- Due to hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, some communities in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions remain temporarily without electricity.

- Where security conditions allow, repair crews are already working on restoration. Power engineers go to sites immediately after air raid alerts end and do everything possible to restore electricity to homes, hospitals, schools, and businesses as quickly as possible.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine, Martin Åberg, during which they discussed the current state of cooperation in the energy sector and further areas for its expansion.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft Law of Ukraine “On the Joint-Stock Company ‘Eastern Mining and Processing Plant’” developed by the Ministry of Energy and submitted it to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration.

“SkhidGZK is a strategic enterprise essential for the future of our nuclear energy sector. Its preservation, attraction of investment, and modernization will make the state energy resilient and strong,” emphasized First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Artem Nekrasov took part in the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, held in Baku.

In his remarks, he emphasized that following the start of russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, diversifying gas supply routes and reducing dependence on russian energy resources have become critical elements of the EU’s energy security.

- Overnight, Russia once again carried out attacks on energy infrastructure facilities in several regions. As a result, consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kherson regions were left without electricity. Power engineers are working in an intensified mode to restore electricity supply to all customers as quickly as possible.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal took part in a meeting of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, chaired by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The agenda focused, in particular, on strengthening the resilience of the power system and preparing the country for the next heating season.

Within this framework, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine will concentrate its efforts on the following areas:

1. Assistance to companies in restoring equipment and core generation facilities destroyed by Russia.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held talks with Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands.

Denys Shmyhal congratulated Sjoerd Sjoerdsma on his appointment and noted the productive cooperation established between the Governments of Ukraine and the Netherlands, expressing confidence that it will continue to expand.
