- During the night, Russia once again carried out strikes against energy infrastructure facilities in several regions. As a result, consumers in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions were left without electricity supply. Power engineers are operating in an enhanced режим to restore electricity to all affected consumers as swiftly as possible.

At the proposal of the Ministry of Energy, the Government of Ukraine has amended the Procedure for Determining and Applying Maximum Electricity Consumption Limits.

In particular, hourly outage schedules will not apply to distributed generation facilities supplying at least 80% of consumers connected to a single power line.

In February, the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine received grant contributions from Norway, Ireland, the Netherlands, Australia, and Sweden. The total amount of contributions reached €208.8 million.

In addition, documents on further grants were signed in February and new donor commitments were declared. Contributions of €2.8 million from Iceland and €500,000 from Slovenia are expected. Announced contributions also include €12.4 million from Canada and €1.5 million from Croatia.

At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, the mines of the state-owned enterprises Lvivvuhillya, Volynvuhillya, and Dobropillyavuhillya-Vydobutok will be transferred to the State Property Fund.

The objective is to attract responsible investors who will carry out technical modernization, optimize operations, and preserve and increase employment.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatoliy Kutsevol, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Tom Berendsen, paid a working visit to one of Centrenergo’s TPPs that was damaged as a result of russian shelling.

During the visit, Anatoliy Kutsevol briefed the Dutch delegation on the consequences of the attacks on the facility, demonstrated the scale of the destruction, and outlined the key challenges and priority needs of the enterprise.

The Government has commenced payments in the amount of UAH 20,000 to critical infrastructure workers involved in eliminating the consequences of Russian attacks. These include power engineers, gas sector workers, water supply and wastewater specialists, municipal utility workers, and railway employees — in total, more than 12,300 professionals.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with a delegation of the Atlantic Council headed by John Herbst. The meeting focused on the current situation in Ukraine’s power system following Russia’s missile and drone attacks, the vertical gas corridor utilising Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities, and the continuation of joint projects in cooperation with the United States.

- Due to hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, a number of communities in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions remain temporarily without electricity supply.

- Where the security situation permits, repair crews are already carrying out restoration works. Power engineers return to the sites immediately after air raid alerts are lifted and are making every effort to restore electricity to homes, hospitals, schools, and enterprises as quickly as possible.

Ukraine has received four generators with a total capacity of 1.62 MW from the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation (Enabel). The equipment has already been transferred to the Kyiv municipal company Kyivteploenergo.

During the official handover ceremony, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko expressed her gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine, Luc Jacobs, and the Director of Enabel in Ukraine, Dirk Depre, for the equipment and for Belgium’s consistent support of Ukraine’s energy sector.
