Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk met with Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ukraine Office, Mr. Osamu Hattori.

“I was pleased to welcome Mr. Osamu Hattori, Chief Representative of the JICA Ukraine Office, on his first visit to the Ministry of Energy following his appointment. We updated ongoing areas of cooperation with JICA and outlined new priorities,” the Minister wrote on her Facebook page.

The European Commission has recognized Ukraine’s consistent progress in implementing reforms and aligning national legislation with EU law in the energy sector. This was stated in the European Commission’s Report on Ukraine within the EU Enlargement Package 2025, published on November 4.

According to Section 15 “Energy” of the report, Ukraine’s level of preparedness in this area is rated “4 – good.”

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk took part in a meeting of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko with ambassadors of NATO partner countries — Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, the United States, and the United Kingdom — who paid their first joint visit to Ukraine.

Svitlana Grynchuk emphasized that a coordinated joint response with partners to Russia’s attacks is crucial to protecting Ukraine’s energy system.

During the meeting with the heads of leading energy companies, participants reviewed the current state of the energy system, the progress of restoration works, infrastructure protection measures, and preparations for the heating season.

“The situation is challenging due to Russia’s massive attacks on critical energy infrastructure, but the system’s stability is being maintained. We are working to restore the energy system’s operation as quickly as possible, using new technologies and innovative solutions,” said Svitlana Grynchuk in an interview with the Canadian outlet The Globe and Mail during the G7 Energy and Environment Ministers’ Summit in Toronto.

At the G7 Energy Ministers’ Meeting in Toronto, a dedicated session was held focusing on Ukraine’s energy security. Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk outlined the key challenges faced by the energy sector as a result of Russia’s ongoing strikes.

“Attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure threaten not only Ukraine but also global energy security. It is therefore essential to strengthen sanctions against the aggressor, which continues to disregard international law and, in particular, nuclear safety,” emphasized Svitlana Grynchuk.

The discussions focused on new technologies and resources needed to ensure a stable and successful heating season in Ukraine.

Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk took part in the G7 Energy Ministers’ Summit in Toronto. As a result of the meeting, for the first time ever, the G7 Energy Ministers issued a joint statement dedicated specifically to Ukraine’s energy security.

“This document declares their unwavering support for Ukraine, their readiness to further contribute to strengthening our energy security, and their recognition of the large-scale negative impact of Russia’s aggression on the global energy security situation,” emphasized Svitlana Grynchuk.

This assistance is part of a broader CAD $70 million (nearly UAH 300 million) support package.

The announcement was made by Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tim Hodgson during a joint briefing on the sidelines of the G7 Energy Ministers’ Summit, which was also attended by Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk.
