The Head of the Ministry of Energy informed his counterpart about the difficult situation in Ukraine’s energy sector resulting from Russia’s targeted attacks on civilian energy infrastructure facilities.

Ukraine has raised the issue of suspending Russia’s membership in the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He emphasized that this assistance is critical for the restoration of energy infrastructure facilities, which continue to suffer daily damage as a result of Russian missile and drone attacks.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatoliy Kutsevol held a meeting with a Dutch delegation led by Alle Dorhout, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister briefed the delegation on the challenging situation in Ukraine’s energy sector caused by massive Russian attacks on critical energy infrastructure.
- As a result of further enemy shelling of energy infrastructure facilities, consumers remain without electricity in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Emergency repair and restoration works are ongoing wherever the security situation allows.
- A capacity deficit persists in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The distribution system operator in the capital is applying temporary schedules based on the available capacity. A return to stable, forecast hourly outage schedules will take place after the energy system stabilizes.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the capital is currently experiencing a power deficit. As of this evening, approximately 610,000 consumers in Kyiv remain without electricity.
